Karibu to Zanzibar Land Animals Park!

The ecologist Mr. Mohammed Ayoub Haji and his team welcome you to ZALA Park, a project built up by the tireless and enthusiastic community of Muungoni village. The aim of this sustainable tourism approach is to save and conserve Zanzibar’s rich natural and cultural heritage, likewise creating a source of income for the local school and community. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience the real and untouched Zanzibar, as close to its roots as you can get!

You will find ZALA Park, surrounded by coco palms, in Muungoni village, about 35 km south east from Stone Town, direction Kizimkazi and also close on the way to Paje and Jambiani. It can easily be combined with a trip to Jozani National Park and the Butterfly Centre.

Mr. Mohammed developed the Park with the aim of educating local children on preserving endangered animal species. This environmental and educational activity has now become a place of attraction for tourists where they can experience native animals, at the same time doing something good by supporting the local school and community. For those who would like to discover the real zanzibarian life, ZALA Park also offers the unique opportunity to do a cultural tour around the village and a trip into the jungle and the mangroves (canoing).

By visiting ZALA Park you are actively supporting conservation of nature, culture and environmental education.

Enjoy your visit!
